Cocktail, as the name suggests is a lethal and entertaining mix of three different characters. While Saif Ali Khan plays the crazy guy, Diana Penty is a simple demure girl and Deepika Padukone is the hot and wild one. As the trio trips on their Yaariyan as if on Daru desi and lives together as a happy threesome, they discover that relationships are not as easy as grooving to Tumhi ho bandhu!
So what is this young and hip-looking love triangle all about? Is it inspired from Woody Allen’s film Vicky Christina Barcelona. Well, guys, even though it may seem so, it isn’t!
A little birdie has told us the love story is quite complex. Here’s what we’ve heard. Gautam Kapoor (Saif) finds a job in London and plans to move there. But his mother (Dimple Kapadia) insists that he stays behind as she is looking for a perfect match for her son. She finds a suitable bahu in Meera Gupta (Diana), but she does not inform the two that she is trying to get them married. Saif’s mother asks him to take Meera along, since she has to be in London for a three-day assignment. Meera and Gautam become friends as they travel to London. Meera fails to submit her assignment and loses her job. The two then meet Veonica D Costa (Deepika) at a beach party and the trio starts living together. Gautam soon falls in love with Veronica, but it turns out that she is love with another man named Jeremy Viegas. While Veronica now starts to fall for Gautam, Jeremy starts developing feelings for Meera. Phew! If this storyline is true, then we must say that it’s a really complex triangle…err sorry…square, isn’t it? Let’s see if this new age look at friendships and love, appeals to us.
