MUMBAI: Rowdy as he may be, Akshay Kumar’s Rathore can breathe easy. On Friday evening Akshay Kumar’s eagerly awaited action-adventure-comedy Rowdy Rathore was cleared by the censorboard with a ‘UA’ certificate.

And that means Akshay’s young under-18 fans can only watch the film accompanied by a parent.

One of the reasons why the film was not cleared for all ages was the raunchy item song Aa re pritam pyare… Pallu ke neeche chupa ke rakha hai /Utha doon toh hangama ho.

J.P Singh, the Regional Officer of the Censor Board Of Film Certification, admits the above song was one of the reasons for the film being granted a ‘UA’ certificate.

Says Mr Singh, “Yes ,the song was a reason for the ‘UA’ certificate. We have given the film ‘UA’ with cuts .We’ve asked them to remove one head-crushing scene, some abuses in Hindi and a few double-meaning dialogues.”

One thing is for sure. This is completely new territory for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
