Salman Khan : To do a item number in Ajay Devgn's film

Mumbai:  In an industry where friendships are fickle, some actors go out of their way to accommodate their friends and close ones. We hear, Salman Khan has not only pledged time to do an item song for Ajay Devgn's forthcoming film, he will not even charge a single penny for it.
A well-placed industry source tells us that it was only recently that Salman was finalised for the song. "Along with the director Ashwini (Dheer), his associate Kumar Mangat and a couple of others, Ajay was discussing about the picturisation of this peppy track.
And then they thought of roping Salman in for it. Since Ajay is good friends with Salman, he called and offered it to him. Knowing their friendship, Salman agreed immediately," explains our informer. Interestingly, Ajay and Salman weren't as great friends when they acted together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam more than a decade back.

"They became friendly a few years ago, and it was only while working together in London Dreams that their friendship was cemented," we're told. Our source further states that Salman is not charging any money for doing the song.
"In fact, he's doing it as a goodwill gesture for a friend," points our source, adding that last year, Ajay and Sanjay Dutt had done cameos for Ready at Salman's request. They were shooting for Rascals in another part of Thailand, but when Salman called, they shot their parts as a friendly gesture.
And when Singham promos went on air, Salman often tweeted about Ajay building an enviable physique. That's the kind of friendship they share." It is learnt that the song will be shot in a Mumbai studio, where a special set will be built for the purpose.
"Besides, Salman has also started filming for his brother Arbaaz's directorial debut, scheduled to release this Christmas. Since Ajay knows that this film is very important to Salman, he'll be shooting the song in the city, so that Salman doesn't have to travel too much for it," sums up our source.
