Kareena Kapoor's loss seems to have become Deepika Padukone's gain as the latter is all set to star in Ekta Kapoor-Karan Johar's next venture. The Cocktail star will be seen opposite actor Emraan Hashmi.
The cast for Emraan Hashmi’s second film with Karan Johar – to be co-produced by the Dharma head honcho’s good friend Ekta Kapoor – has been finalised at last.
The filmmakers had discussed about getting Deepika Padukone to play the serial kisser’s leading lady (after Kareena did not show any interest in being paired with Emraan).
Now, our birdie, who mingles with the top bosses at Dharma and Balaji, has confirmed that Dippy has given her nod. We hear that Dippy heard the script and immediately said ‘yes’ to the film, just before flying off to Turkey for the last schedule of Race 2.
That’s good news for newbie Akshay Roy, who will direct the quirky, edgy and dramatic love story set in urban India. The project will go on floors around October this year. Interestingly, the main reason cited by Bebo for turning down the film was that the dates were clashing with her impending wedding to beau Saif Ali Khan. All we can say is Bebo’s loss is clearly Dippy’s gain. And we are sure that B-town’s rising star Emmie is definitely happy to hear that Deepika has agreed to romance him!
