Travis Barker seekin $25,000 for damage

Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker - who is recovering from severe burns due to the Sept. 19 plane crash that also injured DJ AM and claimed the lives of four others - filed a lawsuit Friday blaming the pilots and “defective” equipment for the unspeakable tragedy.
Two heads are always better than one, as the very same afternoon the mother of Barker’s bodyguard (Charles “Che” Still) filed a suit as well asserting that the pilots “negligently decided to abort” the takeoff that resulted in her son’s death.Travis Barker
Global Executive Aviation, Clay Lacy Aviation, Inter Travel and Services, Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Bombardier Inc. have been cited as defendants in the case, according to E! Online.
Just to send a substantial chill up your spine, the harrowing lawsuit alleges that at least one or more of the tires failed, which left “tire debris and portions of airplane components along the 8,600-foot runway.” In addition to this, the jet’s landing gear, wheels, tires, brakes, reverse thrust system and squat switches “were not airworthy.”Travis Barker
And in case that didn’t do it for ya, the Federal Aviation Administration released recordings from the ill-fated flight earlier this week in which deceased copilot James Bland could be heard uttering “Roll the equipment, we’re going off the end [of the runway].”
Shortly after, the plane ran straight off the landing strip and smacked into airport lighting, navigational facilities and a perimeter fence, skidded across a highway, and crashed into an embankment.Travis Barker
Barker’s declaring that the event caused him pain and suffering, psychological and emotional distress, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of earnings capacity & medical expenses. He is seeking more than $25,000 in damages.
Update via TMZ: “We are surprised about the lawsuit and concerned and knowledgeable about the accident,” a spokesman for Clay Lacy relayed to the news source this morning. “We are sympathetic for the victims but we want to emphasize we were not operating this airplane. This was not our airplane. We merely assisted the parties in chartering this aircraft with another company. We simply booked it for them.”
