Kolkata: West Bengal's brand
ambassador Shah Rukh Khan will soon shoot a promotional film to showcase
the state's beauty. "We have discussed the plans and will take it
forward," 'King' Khan, who will soon star in advertisements promoting
the state globally, said after a 45-minute meeting with Chief Minister
Mamata Banerjee here today.
He said he wanted everybody in the world to see Kolkata and the people of West Bengal.
Asked about his plans as the ambassador of the state, he said, "It is about my love and attachment for the people and the city and so I don't think there has to be concrete plans."
Noting that the people here showered him with affection ever since he bought IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008, the 46-year-old actor-producer said, "I don't need publicity and neither does Bengal need publicity."
The actor was dismissive about his fees.
"My fees for the job is that I have to get free fried fish."
The 'Don' was served the delicacy in the chief minister's office.
Asked about the invitation to deliver a lecture at the prestigious Yale University as it's Chubb Fellow, Khan said it was be a big honour for him.
After the meeting, Khan left with the chief minister M to watch KKR's match at the Eden Gardens.
