After wowing the audience with his authentic portrayal of self-destructive rockstar, RK Jr might go on a world saving mission
Ranbir Kapoor is emerging as one of the few ‘actor superstars’ of the present generation. He is not only a good actor, but is a major draw at the BO too! Prominent filmmakers have expressed their eagerness to work with the rock star as he is said to be a director’s actor. We heard that Anurag Kashyap has already signed Ranbir for his most ambitious film, Bombay Velvet, which was initially offered to Aamir Khan. Buzz is that Dibakar Banerjee’s next will be with RK Jr.
With all this talk buzzing around the blue-eyed boy of Bollywood, the latest news is that he might be playing the role of a superhero in director Milan Luthria’s next. Though busy with the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, the maker of The Dirty Picture is planning a new film with Ranbir that very few people have heard of so far. We were surprised to know that the director has already struck a deal with a leading music company to produce the film. Based on a popular comic book in which the lead protagonist is called Sikandar, this venture is being touted as Luthria’s attempt to please the younger generation after his decidedly adult foray with TDP.
If Kapoor Jr does sign the dotted line he will be right there on top with Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan, both of whom have played superheroes in Bollywood, with varying degrees of success. Wethinks it would be great to see him don a cape and save the world from potential disaster; wethinks we can trust Luthria to make almost anything look believable on the big screen.
Do you think Ranbir Kapoor will make a good superhero?
