Himesh refuses to sing for Rahman

Instead the star insists on having the maestro compose for his production

Thousands of young singers would give an eye and tooth (and probably their night's sleep too) just for an opportunity to sing forAR Reheman. But Himesh isn't one of them. Of course it's another story that he isn't young and many would even argue about his credentials as a singer.

But it did come as a surprise to us when we read in the papers today that he has no inclination to sing for the maestro. Mumbai Mirror has quoted Rahman as saying, "Himesh's voice and the attitude with which Himesh sings is just apt for (a particular) composition. I haven't spoken to Himesh as yet but I will be talking to him very soon"

Interestingly when the reporter told Himesh of Rahman's plans, he turned down the offer very diplomatically. "I don't sing for any outside banner (where I don't act). I would instead requese Rahman saab to give music for one of my films where I am the actor and singer," he told the paper.
