3 Idiots - The flim

Rajkumar Hirani’s latest project is a film titled 3 Idiots. Based on a famous novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R.Madhavan and Sharman Joshi will star in the film. Though the story differs from the novel, the main aspects of the book will be prominent as it is based on life in an engineer college college.

A source from the production house handling the shooting schedule of the film says, “Shooting for the film has already started. The first schedule began in Mumbai and now the leading actors such as Kareena Kapoor and R.Madhavan are in Leh-Ladakh where they will be shooting for almost 20 days. The film is scheduled to be shot in Ladakh, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. Aamir and rest of the cast will begin shooting in early September.”About the plot of the film, the source says, “Mr.Hirani was quite impressed with Chetan Bhagat’s novel but 3 Idiots isn’t exactly Five Point Someone. The film shows the life of students who stays in a hostel, in an engineering college. There will be a total 5 main characters. Boman Irani plays the head of the college and the romantic link will be between Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan. The story also focuses on the unfortunate truth of a system that forces people to pursue success rather than excellence. It will show the study pressure and competition in engineering colleges. The tagline of the film is ‘Chase excellence, success will follow’ because the film also shows how the main characters are pressured by the high expectations from their family.”We spoke to director Rajkumar Hirani, who wasn’t as keen to give out the details on his film. He said, “Shooting has begun but I can't talk much about the movie.”The film is slated to release next year, after which Rajkumar Hirani will start work on Munnabhai Chale America.
