'Rowdy Rathore' all set to be the biggest hit of 2012

Meet the 'Dabangg' members of Bollywood's 'Rowdy' Rs 100 crore club
With two back to back superhit films, Akshay Kumar must be on cloud nine. His last release 'Rowdy Rathore' continues to do wonders at the box office. The film has refused to leave space for other films despite crossing the Rs 100 crore limit. So far, 'Rowdy Rathore' has garnered around Rs 115 crore at the ticket window. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "RowdyRathore breakup for Week 2:- Weekend: 22 cr, Weekdays: 13 cr. Total so far: Rs 114.5 cr nett. Blockbuster."

He further writes, "‪RowdyRathore‬ is unstoppable. Remains first choice of moviegoers. Collected a humungous Rs 35 cr nett in Week 2."
The Akshay Kumar starrer looks all set to cross Agneepath's total collection to become the number one grosser of the year 2012 so far. 'Agneepath' gathered Rs 122 crore at the box office.
On the other hand, director Dibakar Banerjee's political thriller 'Shanghai' has not done well at the commercial level. The film received rave reviews from the critics, but the common movie-goer didn't show the same enthusiasm. However, it's early to predict the commercial fate of 'Shanghai' because some films pick up after the first week of their releases.
'Rowdy Rathore' is a remake of Telugu film 'Vikramarkudu'. With the remakes of Southern films making good money, the trend seems to gain momentum.
