Top Bollywood and sports stars have joined a new United Nations campaign that exhorts citizens to help eradicate poverty.Dubbed as United Nations Millennium campaign to eradicate poverty nationwide it has current hearthrob Ranbir Kapoor, poet and filmmaker Gulzar, music director A R Rahman, singers Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam and cricketer Yuvraj Singh.In a simple but stark reminder they ask Indians to stand up join the campaign and be counted in the advertisement, which will hit TV screens shortly.The TV advertisement has been directed by Meghna Gulzar and production by the makers of critical and commercial hit Khosla Ka Ghosla.With celebrities lending their weight to the UN effort, the message should get through clearly and powerfully to the aam janta.
